Ingredients
- 1/2 c. rice
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. raisins
- 4 c. milk
- nutmeg
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 1/2 c. light or heavy cream (I use half and half)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. sugar or less
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- cinnamon (on top)
Method
- Cook first two ingredients together in a double boiler for 1 to 1 1/4 hours, stirring occasionally.
- May be necessary to add a little milk.
- Add remaining ingredients, mixing well.
- Vary by adding currants or raisins part-way through cooking period.
