Ingredients

  • 4 c. sliced peaches
  • 1/2 c. soft margarine
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c. boiling water

Method

  • Place peaches in an 8 x 10-inch casserole dish. Set aside. Cream the margarine and gradually add 3/4 cup sugar.
  • Beat well. Add flour to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  • Pour batter over peaches.
  • Combine the remaining 3/4 cup sugar and cornstarch.
  • Stir in boiling water, stirring until sugar melts.
  • Pour over batter. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
