Ingredients
- 60 grams Unsalted butter
- 60 grams Flour
- 1000 ml Milk
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 dash Nutmeg
- 200 ml Heavy cream
- 1 1/2 tbsp Consomme stock granules
- 1 Salt
Method
- Slowly melt the butter in the frying pan over a low heat.
- Add the sifted flour and fry, making sure it doesn't burn.
- Stop the heat.
- Add the warmed milk in two batches, mixing quickly with a whisk after each addition.
- Add the bay leaf and nutmeg, and simmer for about 5 minutes over a low heat.
- Add the heavy cream and consomme, season with salt, and it's done.
