Ingredients

  • 350 grams Steamed sweet potatoes
  • 20 grams Butter (or margarine)
  • 50 grams Sugar
  • 45 grams Milk
  • 5 grams Rum
  • 1 Egg yolk

Method

  • Prepare the food processor.
  • Cook quickly while the steamed sweet potatoes are still warm.
  • Add all the ingredients into the food processor, and mix.
  • If it's hard to mix, add 1 teaspoon of milk at a time to make the mixture smooth.
  • When it becomes smooth, transfer into an icing bag, and squeeze it out.
  • The consistency should be the same as soft koshi-an (smooth sweet red bean paste).
  • It's easy to squeeze out the mixture while it's still warm.
  • Brush with the egg yolk or milk (excluded from the ingredients) on the surfaces of the sweet potato dessert to make them lustrous if you would like.
  • Bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 200C, and they're done.
  • When baked, the surfaces are lightly browned.
