Ingredients

  • 1 c. crushed pecans
  • 1 1/2 c. coconut
  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cube oleo
  • 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar

Method

  • Grease and flour 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Sprinkle pecans, then coconut on bottom of pan.
  • Prepare cake mix as directed on box, then pour over pecans and coconut.
  • Beat oleo, cream cheese until smooth, then add vanilla and powdered sugar and beat until well blended.
  • Spoon mixture in large heaping spoonfuls on top of cake, avoiding the sides of the pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 55 minutes.
  • Cake will seem not done, but as it cools, it sets.
