Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. confectioners sugar
  • 1 c. cake flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. shredded coconut

Method

  • Thoroughly blend butter, sugar and cake flour; spread in lightly greased 8-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Beat eggs and brown sugar until thick; add sifted dry ingredients.
  • Add nuts and coconut; spread over first mixture.
  • Continue baking 30 minutes.
  • Cut in squares and cool in pan.
  • Makes 2 dozen squares.
