Ingredients

  • 1 c. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 2 c. table salt
  • 2/3 c. water
  • food coloring

Method

  • Stir together cornstarch and 1/2 cup cold water in a bowl. Mix in a saucepan 2 cups salt and 2/3 cup water, over low heat, until mixture is very warm.
  • Stir cornstarch mixture into water and salt mixture.
  • When this gets quite warm and is the consistency of stiff dough, cool, remove from pan and knead like bread.
  • Knead food coloring into dough.
  • Store in plastic bag at room temperature.
