- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 qt. water
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 2 tsp. vinegar
- large bay leaf
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
Method
- Place raw ground beef and onion in water; stir until meat separates.
- Boil slowly for 30 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients; bring to boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 3 hours.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Remove fat.
- Heat.
