Ingredients

  • 1 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 c. hot potato water
  • 1 c. melted lard or Crisco
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • flour, enough for stiff dough
  • 1 pkg. Fleischmann's yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, well beaten

Method

  • Stir together potatoes, hot potato water, lard and sugar. Cool.
  • Add yeast dissolved in water.
  • Mix together and let set for 2 hours.
  • Add salt, eggs and flour.
  • Mix well and knead on floured board.
  • Put in refrigerator overnight.
  • When ready to use, roll out about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Place in greased pan, also greasing each biscuit.
  • Put in warm place and let rise 2 or 3 hours.
  • Bake in moderate oven.
