Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. white syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Method
- Cook sugar, syrup and water until it forms a soft, but firm ball.
- Pour 1/2 of mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Return balance of syrup to fire and continue cooking until it forms a very hard ball.
- Pour into egg white mixture and continue beating. Add vanilla and nuts.
- Beat until very stiff.
- Pour in lightly buttered platter.
- Cool and cut into squares.
