Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 Tbsp. low calorie sweetener

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425°. Spray 8 x 8-inch pan with vegetable cooking spray. Peel, core and thinly slice apples. In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Arrange mixture in baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt. With pastry blender, cut in butter until coarse and crumbly. Sprinkle flour mixture over apple mixture. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until crust is golden and apples are tender. Immediately sprinkle with sweetener. Serves 9.
