- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1-1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1 c. celery, finely chopped
- 1 c. green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes with liquid
- 1-1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
- 1/2 c. beef broth
Method
- In a 2-1/2 quart pan brown ground beef with salt.
- Add onion, celery and pepper.
- Cook about 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat. Add tomatoes with liquid and seasonings.
- Bring to boil.
- Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Add beans and broth.
- Simmer 20 minutes. Yield:
- 6 servings / 4-1/2 cups.
