Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. boiling water

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Grease and flour two 9-inch round or 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • In large bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, powder, soda and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
  • Stir in boiling water and pour into pan(s).
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round pans, 35 to 40 minutes for 13 x 9 x 2-inch.
