Ingredients

  • 4 qts dandelion flowers
  • 4 qts boiling water
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 3 lbs granulated sugar
  • 3 oranges, diced
  • 3 lemons, diced

Method

  • Select fresh flowers and be sure all bitter stems are removed.
  • Pour boiling water over the flowers and let stand for 3 days.
  • Drain and add remaining ingredients.
  • Let stand covered for 3 weeks at room temperature (70-75 degrees) until fermented. Strain into bottles and seal. When first bottled, place wad of cotton in bottle to be sure liquid has finished working.
  • Takes at least 6 more months to mature.
