Ingredients
- 1 c. softened butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sour cream
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
Method
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add the eggs, vanilla and sour cream. Blend well.
- Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and nutmeg.
- Add slowly to the creamed mixture.
- Mix well. Divide into 4 to 5 balls and chill overnight or 3 to 4 hours. Roll on a floured surface.
- Cut into desired shapes and sprinkle with colored sugar crystals, if desired.
- Bake at 325° for 8 to 10 minutes.
