Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 qt. water
  • 1 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
  • 3/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. Accent
  • 1 tsp. white pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 c. shredded American cheese
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 c. light cream
  • 5 chicken bouillon cubes

Method

  • In a 3-quart pan, bring water to a boil; add broccoli and onion. Boil 10 to 12 minutes. Add seasoning and cheese.
  • Stir until cheese melts.
  • Add milk, cream and butter.
  • Heat to boiling. Add 1/2 cup cold water to flour, stirring until smooth. Slowly add to mixture, stirring rapidly. Cook and stir until thick.
  • Add bouillon cubes.
