Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Soften margarine and cream cheese; blend until smooth.
  • Add sugar gradually.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Sift flour and baking powder together and add to cream mixture, about 1/3 cup at a time.
  • Add flavorings.
  • Bake in a well-greased 10-inch tube pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes in a 325° oven.
  • Let stay in pan for 5 minutes, then turn out.
  • Cool on rack until cool.
