Ingredients

  • 2 c. cranberries
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. melted shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. butter or oleo, melted

Method

  • Grease well a 10-inch pie plate.
  • Spread cranberries over bottom of plate.
  • Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and nuts.
  • Set aside.
  • Beat eggs well.
  • Add 1 cup sugar gradually, mixing thoroughly.
  • Add flour, melted butter and shortening.
  • Beat well. Pour this batter over top of berries.
  • Bake in a slow oven at 325° for 60 minutes and crust is golden.
  • Cut like pie.
  • Serve warm or cold with generous scoops of vanilla ice cream.
