Ingredients

  • 1 frozen pie shell
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can crab meat
  • 1/2 c. grated Gruyere cheese
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 c. half and half
  • 2 dashes of nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. white wine
  • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese

Method

  • Bake pie shell at 450° for 4 minutes.
  • Place crab meat in pie shell.
  • Combine remaining ingredients except Cheddar cheese and paprika in bowl; mix well.
  • Pour into pie shell.
  • Sprinkle Cheddar cheese and paprika over top.
  • Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce to 350°.
  • Bake for 30 minutes longer.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
