- 1 frozen pie shell
- 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can crab meat
- 1/2 c. grated Gruyere cheese
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 c. half and half
- 2 dashes of nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. white wine
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Method
- Bake pie shell at 450° for 4 minutes.
- Place crab meat in pie shell.
- Combine remaining ingredients except Cheddar cheese and paprika in bowl; mix well.
- Pour into pie shell.
- Sprinkle Cheddar cheese and paprika over top.
- Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
- Reduce to 350°.
- Bake for 30 minutes longer.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
