Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour (all-purpose)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. oats
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Blend together shortening, sugars and eggs until fluffy.
  • Add flour, baking powder and soda.
  • Add oats and chocolate chips.
  • Stir until thoroughly blended.
  • Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 15 minutes for crisp cookies.
  • Cook less for soft chewier cookies.
  • Cool some before removing from cookie sheet.
