Ingredients

  • 4 c. cornbread, broken in pieces
  • 2 c. dry bread, broken
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 large onion, chopped and sauteed in 1 Tbsp. butter with 1 c. celery, chopped
  • 3 to 4 boiled chopped eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. sage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 to 4 c. chicken broth (more if needed)

Method

  • Mix crumbs and seasonings.
  • Add celery and onion.
  • Add beaten eggs with broth and mix well.
  • Add chopped boiled eggs (more seasoning if desired).
  • Place in 13 x 9-inch pan sprayed lightly. Bake at 400° for 45 minutes to 1 hour until set.
  • (Mixture needs to be moist before baking.)
