Ingredients

  • 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can hominy, drained
  • salt
  • pepper
  • season to taste with a mixture of 1/4- 1/2 tsp of each garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, dried jalapeno powder or chili powder

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Drain and pat dry hominy.
  • Bake dry hominy in oven for 40-45 minutes,.
  • Heat oil to 350-400 degrees.
  • in small batches slowly add hominy to hot oil for 2-3 minutes, drain on paper towels and season to taste, BE VERY CAREFUL OIL SPLATTERS AND POPS IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO USE A SPLATTER SCREEN AND STAND BACK!
