Ingredients
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can hominy, drained
- salt
- pepper
- season to taste with a mixture of 1/4- 1/2 tsp of each garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, dried jalapeno powder or chili powder
Method
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Drain and pat dry hominy.
- Bake dry hominy in oven for 40-45 minutes,.
- Heat oil to 350-400 degrees.
- in small batches slowly add hominy to hot oil for 2-3 minutes, drain on paper towels and season to taste, BE VERY CAREFUL OIL SPLATTERS AND POPS IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO USE A SPLATTER SCREEN AND STAND BACK!
