Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 4 c. plain flour
- pinch of baking powder
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 or more Tbsp. sweet milk
- sprinkle of salt
Method
- Sift sugar, flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Work into soft butter and milk.
- Make into a ball.
- Put into a Ziploc bag. Beat with mallet 200 strokes.
- Take out and divide into 4 balls. Roll each ball between wax paper.
- Roll very thin.
- Cut in strips. Bake at 325°.
- Do not let it brown.
- While still warm, cut into bite size pieces.
- Pack in airtight box.
- Save 2 or 3 long strips for pastor to use in the service.
- Recipe makes enough for Pisgah. Very old recipe, used at Pisgah for many years.
