Ingredients
- 6 large lemons
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. concentrated lemon juice
- 3 c. granulated sugar
- 3 1/2 qt. water
- approximately 8 to 10 ice cubes
Method
- Add ice cubes to water and set aside to chill.
- Roll, wash, squeeze and dice into bits, the rind and pulp of lemons into mixing bowl.
- Add juice, sugar and lemon bits; mix well.
- Add about 4 cups of chilled water.
- Add to the remainder of the chilled water.
- Pour some of the lemonade mixture back into the mixing bowls to make sure the lemon mixture was all added to the chilled water.
- Repeat if necessary.
- Refrigerate until time to serve with ice cubes. Yields one gallon.
