Ingredients

  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. tomato juice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. prepared horseradish
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • lettuce leaves

Method

  • Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a medium saucepan. Let stand 1 minute.
  • Add tomato juice to remaining ingredients except lettuce.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring until gelatin dissolves. Cool to room temperature.
  • Pour mixture into a lightly oiled 4-cup mold.
  • Cover and chill at least 8 hours.
  • Unmold onto a lettuce lined plate.
  • Yields 6 to 8 servings.
