Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. margarine, melted
- 2 eggs
- 4 c. unbleached flour
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
Method
- Mix ingredients well, except the wheat flour.
- Add whole wheat flour.
- Knead by hand or dough hooks until dough handles easily. Let rise until double.
- Divide into 4 parts.
- Roll each section out.
- Spread with margarine, sprinkle with brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon and nuts.
- Roll into log shape, slice approximately 1 1/2 inches.
- Place in baking pan.
- Let rise until double.
- Bake 25 minutes at 375°.
- Frost when cooled (powdered sugar and lemon juice).
