Ingredients

  • 2 sq. Hershey's baking chocolate
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. maraschino cherries
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped

Method

  • Melt chocolate in double boiler.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add egg; blend well.
  • Stir in vanilla and melted chocolate; beat until combined.
  • Add in flour, soda and salt; mix.
  • Stir in cherries and nuts.
  • Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
  • Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until set at 350°.
  • Makes 5 dozen cookies.
