Ingredients
- 4 to 4 1/2 c. bread flour
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Method
- Combine all ingredients.
- Knead until smooth, dry and pliable. Cover and let rise until double in size.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Brush entire surface with egg wash.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, raisins and nuts.
- Roll dough up like a jelly roll and cut into 1/2-inch pieces.
- Place in pan and let rise.
- Bake at 375° until brown.
