Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar, divided (1/2 c. plus 1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp.)
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water
  • 1 c. milk, scalded
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. flour, divided (2 plus 2)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Method

  • Combine yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar and warm water; set aside. Scald milk; stir in margarine and 1/2 cup sugar. Cool to lukewarm. Add eggs, salt and 2 cups flour; beat thoroughly. Add dissolved yeast and remaining flour. Beat 5 minutes. Cover and let set in a warm place to rise until doubled in size.
