Ingredients

  • 1 c. commercial sour cream
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk

Method

  • Combine sour cream, 1/2 cup sugar, yeast and salt.
  • Mix well. Add eggs, 1/2 cup butter and 2 1/4 cups flour.
  • Beat until mixture is smooth.
  • Add remaining flour, mix well.
  • Turn dough out onto a floured surface.
  • Knead until dough is smooth and elastic, 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85°) free from drafts, 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
