Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. hot roll mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. ground cardamon
  • 3/4 c. raisins (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. milk
  • candied fruit

Method

  • Prepare roll mix as directed on the label, adding 1 egg and cardamon.
  • Let rise until double in bulk.
  • Turn out on lightly floured board and knead in raisins.
  • Set aside 1/3 of the dough. Divide remaining dough in 3 equal parts and roll each in a strip about 12 inches long.
  • Braid.
  • Put on greased baking sheet. Divide other piece of dough into 3 equal parts and roll each into a strip about 10 inches long.
  • Braid.
  • Place smaller braid on top of larger braid.
