Ingredients
- 3 c. lukewarm water (may save some water from cooking potatoes)
- 4 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. honey
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. melted margarine or butter
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. instant nonfat dry milk (undiluted)
- 12 c. flour
- 1 tsp. lemon juice or lemon rind
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. dates
- 1 lb. glazed fruit
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
Method
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
- Add 1/2 cup honey.
- Sift together flour, nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Add 4 cups of dry ingredients to yeast mixture.
- May mix with electric hand mixer on slow to medium speed.
- Cover and let rise about 1/2 hour to light spongy consistency.
