Ingredients
- 2 c. plain flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. water
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Sift together sugar, flour and soda; set aside.
- In saucepan, place water, margarine, oil and cocoa; bring to a boil and pour over dry ingredients.
- Mix well and set aside.
- Mix together buttermilk, eggs and vanilla.
- Add to chocolate batter.
- Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
- Start icing 5 minutes before cake is done.
