Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 c. margarine, softened
- 3 c. sugar
- 10 eggs
- 4 c. sifted cake flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Method
- In small saucepan, melt shortening; add cocoa, stirring until smooth.
- Set aside.
- Cream butter and gradually add sugar; beat well.
- Add eggs, one at a time.
- Beat well after each egg.
- Add flour and vanilla, mixing well.
- Remove 2 cups of batter.
- Add chocolate mixture; stir until blended.
