Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 sq. chocolate
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Sift flour, cornstarch, salt and sugar in top of double boiler; stir in 2 cups boiling water and place over other part of double boiler and boil until custard leaves the side of pan, then add egg yolks and cook 5 minutes.
  • Turn off heat and add vanilla and butter.
  • Pour in baked pie shell; cover with meringue and bake in moderate oven until brown.
