- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 6 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. melted Parkay margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
Method
- Mix first 4 ingredients plus 2 tablespoons cocoa.
- Add milk, shortening and vanilla.
- Mix only until smooth; add pecans.
- Pour in greased shallow pan, 9 x 9-inches.
- Mix brown sugar and remaining 4 tablespoons cocoa.
- Sprinkle over mixture in pan. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over top.
- Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
