Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. sharp cheese
- 1/2 lb. margarine
- 2 c. self-rising flour, unsifted when measured
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Method
- Cream grated cheese and margarine.
- Sift flour and salt and pepper together.
- Add the dry mixture to cheese and margarine. (Use hands or mixer to work until well mixed.) Use pastry tube with "star" plate to make straws.
- Bake 12 minutes in a preheated 375° oven.
- (Yields approximately 100 three-inch straws; this allows for some broken straws.)
