Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 baked and cooled 9-inch pie shell

Method

  • In pan, mix sugar, flour and salt.
  • Add 1 cup milk and mix smooth.
  • Bring to boil, stirring continually, until smooth. Remove from heat.
  • With fork, beat eggs with remaining cup of milk.
  • Gradually stir into hot mixture.
  • Put back on heat and bring to boil until thickened a bit more.
  • Remove from heat; stir in butter, chocolate pieces and vanilla.
  • Stir until chocolate melts.
  • Pour in shell and chill.
