Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. dark brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (3.4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chocolate morsels
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans
  • 1 c. quick cooking oats

Method

  • Beat shortening and butter at medium speed until creamy; gradually add sugars.
  • Add eggs and beat.
  • Add mix and vanilla. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients.
  • Gradually add to butter mixture and beat.
  • Stir in morsels, pecans and oats.
  • Shape dough into balls and press to 1-inch thickness.
  • Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Makes 3 dozen.
