Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups White Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Butter-Flavor Shortening
  • 1/4 cups Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Beat sugars, shortening, butter, vanilla, and egg until creamy and well combined. Sift lightly together flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine with wet ingredients and do not overmix. Add chocolate chips.
  • Roll in walnut-sized balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes just until set in the middle and just starting to turn tan on the sides (usually takes about 11 minutes for my dark pan). Don't overcook!
