Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. Crisco
  • 2/3 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. coconut (optional)
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Mix Crisco and margarine.
  • Add sugar and brown sugar; mix.
  • Add eggs and vanilla; mix.
  • Slowly add flour, salt and baking soda.
  • Add chips, nuts and coconut.
  • Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake about 8 minutes.
  • May be baked as pan cookie.
