Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 (1 oz.) sq. baking chocolate
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 3/4 c. flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan over low heat.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add sugar.
  • Add 1 unbeaten egg; mix with a fork.
  • Add other egg; mix again.
  • Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
  • Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; add to mixture.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Pour into an 8-inch square pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
