Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. sirloin (1-inch thick)
  • 1/4 c. Crisco oil
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 4 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 large green peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1/2 c. beef bouillon
  • 1/4 c. cold water and 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed

Method

  • Cut steak into 1-inch strips and season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in skillet; add garlic and ginger.
  • Saute until garlic is golden.
  • Add steak slices and brown.
  • Remove meat from skillet. Add peppers and onions.
  • Saute until tender.
  • Place meat back in skillet; add other ingredients and heat.
  • Serve over rice and/or noodles.
