Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground meat (beef, turkey, pork, etc.)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 large green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 gloves garlic, diced
  • 1 (16 oz.) can mushroom pieces and stems
  • 2 (32 oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 c. red kidney beans, canned or cooked (throw juice away)
  • Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 c. chili powder
  • 1/8 c. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Method

  • Saute onion, green pepper, mushrooms and garlic in water until tender.
  • Add ground meat and continue to cook on medium heat until browned.
  • Add tomatoes and spices.
  • Simmer on low heat for 1 hour. Add beans and heat thoroughly.
  • Use Tabasco to add as much zip as you and your family like.
