Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 lb. chopped meat
  • 4 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 pinch oregano
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 c. wine
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans stewed tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cans water
  • 2 cans Progresso red kidney beans

Method

  • Brown meat in butter.
  • Add onion, celery, peppers and spices. Saute for 10 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, wine and water and simmer for 1 hour.
  • Cool down.
