Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or oleo, softened
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. finely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
Method
- In large bowl, cream butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and salt until fluffy.
- Stir in flour and walnuts until well blended. Cover and chill 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle.
- Break off small piece of dough and on lightly floured surface, roll into finger-thick strips.
- Cut in 2-inch lengths.
- Taper ends, shape in crescents.
- Place 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake in preheated 300° oven 18 to 20 minutes or until firm to the touch. While warm, roll in granulated sugar.
- Cool on rack.
- Store in airtight container in cool place.
