Ingredients

  • 6 slices cubed bread
  • 2 c. chicken or turkey, diced
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper (optional)
  • 1/3 c. salad dressing
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 can mushroom soup (undiluted)
  • 2 slices buttered bread crumbs

Method

  • Place 3 slices of bread cubes in a large greased casserole. Mix the chicken or turkey, celery, onion, green pepper, salad dressing and salt; add on top of the bread cubes.
  • Add 3 more slices of cubed bread.
  • Beat eggs with milk; pour over top and let stand overnight or several hours.
  • Add mushroom soup over top of casserole, then top with buttered bread crumbs.
  • Bake for 1 hour at 350°.
