Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 cloves of garlic, cut in half
  • 1 cube of chicken stock
  • Whole black peppercorns
  • Salt
  • Water to cover the chicken
  • 1 lime

Method

Fry the chicken and onions until slightly brown. Put all ingredients except the lime in a large pot. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 20 minutes. Strain the soup and serve as a broth with a squeeze of lime juice. You can fry the leftover chicken pieces and serve them separately.
