Ingredients
- 4 lb. chicken
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 c. broth or water
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper (optional)
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sour cream
Method
- Saute onions and paprika in shortening slowly for 10 minutes. Add disjointed chicken.
- Cover pan and simmer until golden brown. Add broth; cook until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Add water, if needed.
- Blend flour, seasonings and sour cream 5 minutes before chicken is done.
- Stir into mixture slowly.
- Serve with noodles or dumplings.
