Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • 6 chicken breasts
  • 2 pkg. frozen broccoli
  • bread crumbs

Method

  • Cook chicken until tender. Cool, bone and slice. Save broth. Melt butter.
  • Add flour and cook until smooth. Add broth, milk, cornstarch and cheese.
  • Cook over low heat until sauce is smooth. Cook broccoli until tender.
  • Place layer of broccoli in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with florets turned out. Top with chicken, batter and bread crumbs.
  • Sprinkle lightly with paprika.
  • Bake at 350° until slightly browned.
